lower gas prices feel like blood money in my pocket

Do any of you feel the same way?

Few weeks ago, over $4.00.
Last week, $3.77.
Yesterday, $3.55.
My mom said it's supposed to go down to $3.41 soon.

I feel like this is the gov't.'s way of giving me blood money. My heart sinks everytime I see the prices go down. The lower we fall, I know the more we're going to pay for it later. It's gonna hit us in the gut & I'm afraid some of us won't be able to rise back up.

I knew this would happen. I wanted to blog about this on July 14th. The day Bush overturned that ban on offshore drilling, I felt punched in the stomach. I just felt so sick to my stomach. Like seriously nauseous. I just hoped that we've elected a Congress smart enough to not make his executive order come to fruition.

The very next day, the price of oil per barrel dropped. It's been dropping since. I know it's only dropping cause ppl think that we're gonna be drowning in all the crude oil our lil hearts can take real soon. But that ain't happenin, Charlie.

What's gonna happen when ppl realize that this isn't the solution? It's just gonna skyrocket way past what we thought was high before. The truth is, this country's been spoiled as far as gas prices go for decades now. If ppl think they can't afford gas now, they're gonna be in for a rude awakening when it hits over $8.00 a gallon. That's what I think will happen when ppl realize that offshore drilling's not the end-all to this prob.

Please don't let this congress let us down.

Here's the long & short of it (mostly long, cause c'mon, you know I ramble):

- if (if) there's oil to be found, it will be decades (decades) before we actually got that oil & the price drop from it would be minimal. It would come out to a 2¢ drop, 20 years from now.

- 80% of US produced oil (from US reserves) is from 4 states: LA, TX, AK, & CA. If we wanted to find more, our best best would be the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).

- Um... do you know what "National Wildlife Refuge" even means? It means, you told those animals that you weren't going to destroy their home for your own evil means.

- If they spent a decade looking/finding/drilling for oil, there's only realistically a year's worth up there. You're gonna destroy the sanctuary for that? Really? Really?

- It is very (very) likely that any oil drilled from ANWR will never be sold in the US. It will be sold off to the highest International bidder (most likely China). (C'mon, ppl, didja forget we're a capitalist society?)
- Currently, we have 500 oil spills in Alaska every year. Yeah, they don't exactly advertise that. You don't think that's gonna decrease when they have more new drilling monstrosities?

- Seismic testing to locate oil creates decibel levels of 260 – twice as loud as an ambulance – underwater. Exposure to these levels of noise underwater can cause disorientation, brain hemorrhaging, or even beaching for whales and dolphins. Only last week over 100 melon-head whales beached off of Madagascar close to where ExxonMobil was conducting seismic testing. (6/19/2008, from Greenpeace website)

Here's a video of a guy who spent 3 months hiking across Alaska, & spent a LOT of time in the ANWR (it's 3½ mins ppl):

What we need is an alternate solution. My main concern is that we will lose track of what's imp: trying to develop alternative renewable energies.

Like this Pickens Plan that this guy T. Boone has.

23 positions in a one-night stand?

So you know how R. Kelly got off?

Yeah, that didn't link to what you thought it was gonna link to, eh? You sick, sick ppls! ;)

Anyway, I have a couple thoughts on that.

1- they say one of the main factors is that the girl in the video didn't testify. I'm wondering if anyone's checked for any weird (& extreme) activity in her bank account since this case has arisen. I'm just sayin.

and deux- I think anyone who has that video on their computer should face some sort of child porn charges. Yes, that prob means a few of the ppl who come to this post googling this whole situation.

No, I haven't seen the video. No, I have no plans to ever see the video. And yes, I did just write that in a huffy-pretentious voice.

UPDATE: Ok, I was gonna post a comment, but it turned really long, so I'm just adding it here as a radio edit.

It's absolutely crazy. Kids are having sex at the age of like 12 in suburbs & even younger in inner cities. I've heard this from kids! It's insane & outta control.

I'm so scared for our youth.

The other thing is, I think she was totally willing (as were other teenage girls). And they don't regret it when they're older. It's a "cool thing". And if they did regret it (doubtful), they would never testify against someone so famous that so many ppl love. Some crazy fans would try to stalk/hurt them if Kells ever went to jail.

I was listening to a radio show while in Chi-town one weekend, & there were a couple girls who called in bragging about having slept w/ him a decade ago when they were teens. Who knows if they were legit, or if they were making it up? But regardless, it was seen as a cool experience.

that's how you slap a racist diva

How comes we don't convict racists & bigots here in the US like they do in France?

They mean ill-will & harm to a particular group of ppl. How many ppl die here in the US b/c of their race, religion, gender (transgender), or sexual-orientation? How many are harmed or die, & it goes unreported? It's sickening.

story:
Brigitte Bardot wrote a letter to (then) Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. In the letter, she provoked discrimination and racial hatred; stating that Muslims are destroying France.

She wrote that France was "tired of being led by the nose by this population that is destroying us, destroying our country by imposing its acts."

Her statements were also published in her foundation's quarterly journal.

France has anti-racism laws that "prevent inciting hatred and discrimination on racial or religious or racial grounds". Bardot has already been convicted four times for this in the past.

more on my cravings

Well, I've been craving ice cream all week. I'll take it in any form, really. I musta mentioned milkshakes like 5 times in the last week. Then, this week's PhotoFriday challenge is Cold, & someone who must hate me submitted this pic.

I'm not a fan of sprinkles, but man-o-man. A choco-dipped waffle cone with really rich, creamy ice cream inside on a hot day? (it's getting all melty, so it's gotta be a hot day)

They're killin me here!

Dear Yahoo & TJ Maxx,

Why do you hate me?

Don't you know I'm trying here!

I've overcome my addiction.

All I've ever done is love you both.

I don't know why you're ganging up on me like this.

I've never done either of you wrong!

I now have the decorum of an East-sider

Well, I've moved. I'm now an east-sider, & I walk to work (most days). I haven't really unpacked most of my stuff yet. I just don't have the motivation to.

I want to see ppl. I want to be surrounded by the ppl I care about. I think it's because I feel somewhat isolated. I remember when I lived on the west-side, & ppl would ask me to come over to the east-side for something, & I would decline.

I would say things like:
"well, if it wasn't on the east-side, I'd totally be there".

Like that was my valid excuse?!?! It seems a lil ridiculous to me now, as an east-sider to think that I said that. But I did, & didn't think anything wrong with it.

Sometimes, I really don't think about what I say, huh?

In other news, I finally bought new rechargeable batteries for my digi-cam, so I'll be posting pics once again. Yea!

the peg-leg wants to be a priest.

Hello, can you say “Delusions of Grandeur”? This is insane!

Did you guys see that Sir Paul’s lawyer left court with her head all wet b/c Heather Mills dumped a glass of water on her?!?! She told reporters that she was "baptized in court". Uh...
♬♪♫ crazy ♬♪♫

Anyway, I think we all know from my previous post that I was no fan of hers from the onslaught. But it does irritate me how some women* marry a rich man for a few years, & then feel entitled to a ton of money. [ * I ain't sayin she's a gold-digga, but she ain't messin w/ no broke.... ]

Now, I can understand if they were married for a long time (10-30 yrs). In many cases, they struggled to make it happen before one of them got their break. But they BOTH went through that, & relied on each other to get to that point.

But c'mon now peggy, you can't be serious. I'm sick of ppl saying that they've "acclimated" to a lifestyle. Please! It was 4 years! If you lived your whole life with 2 legs & then one is taken away from you, you simply adapt, & learn to deal with having a peg-leg attached to you. You ADAPT.

Peggy's getting paid. And their child gets $70,000 a year, plus Sir Paul pays her school & nanny fees. And seriously, she said it was a "paltry amount" & "She's obviously meant to travel B class while her father travels A class". Yeah, peggy, obviously.

We all know how much Sir Paul cares about his kids, & I highly doubt he would trivialize anything for any of them. This whole thing is so ridiculous.

Why is it annoying me SO incredibly much, you ask? It's because when they 1st met & got married, he thought she was it. But it turned out she wasn't. I'm having issues with that. How does anyone know when someone is it? Esp when you find out they're not? You try to keep faith & believe, but I don't think Sir Paul's gonna open his heart again to another woman ever.

And the thought of any person doing that makes me sad.

displaced by the displaced

Well, it's official. The homeless ppl are movin into my apt, & I'm out.

I thought I'd take a min to tell you about my old apt. It was the 2nd floor of a house that overlooked Edgewater Park & Lake Erie. I had a front balcony from the living room, so I spent a TON of time out there watching the beauty in front of me.

The trees, the lake, the greenery. The changing of the colors, & eventually, the snow shimmering down on it all. I remember one night recently, everyone woke up to everything being covered in this light, glittery snow.

Except me. Cause I was up & out on my balcony from 3:30 am watching it all come down, flake by flake. I've been having trouble sleeping lately, so I was just up & went out there to watch it come down. It wasn't freezing cold, so my down jacket (hat & gloves) kept me toasty warm.

I'm gonna miss that.

It was hardwood flooring, w/ real woodwork & trim everywhere. There were some built-in shelves w/ these delicate glass doors on them (to keep out dust). And the glass was BEVELED! In the dining room, there was a lil sitting area under the windows, & shelves underneath. 2 nice-sized bedrooms.

It's fine though. Everything happens for a reason. I'm about to move to the East-side, just to the top of the hill at Little Italy. I've only ever lived on the West-side (over 20-odd years). Maybe I need to be away from everything I've ever known for a while.

Evicted by the homeless

Ok, so maybe I do tend to exaggerate sometimes. Whatev.

Here’s the deallio. I was thinking of moving into a 2-bedroom place with someone, so I told mees* landlord that I’d be moving on out. I love my place, but just can’t afford to live there alone, so I’m moving in with someone so that I can afford to also pay for other stuff than just rent. (my landlord doesn’t allow pets, hence lookin for a new place).

[*mees is Irish for my. I figured since St. Patty's day is upon us...]

Well, we were in a time crunch b/c we needed to find a place by next Friday. She had a backup plan, but we were really hoping to live together. I'd been searchin, but just couldn't find a decent place.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch....
My landlord had made an appointment with this couple to show them my apt on Sat. But because of the snow-storm, they ended up canceling. They re-scheduled to Tuesday, but cancelled that as well b/c the woman had fell during the snow-storm & had what my landlord called a "medical emergency". (In quotes, b/c I think he's exaggerating).

Yesterday, b/c of the time crunch we're under, my friend & I decide to forget about finding a new place together. She's just gonna go with her back-up, & I'm gonna stay at my place. Maybe look for a new roommate to move in with me.

So, I call my landlord to tell him not to show the house, that I'm stayin. I figured it was FATE that no one got to see the place yet.

He pauses & sighs & then tells me that he feels that he should give these ppl 1st dibbs on my apt! I'm like, "WHAT!?!??", can't you just tell them that I'm staying so it's not available anymore? He continues & says "Well, the thing is that they had to cancel b/c of the storm & then a medical emergency". I didn't think this was a valid reason, b/c I re-scheduled seeing a 2-bedroom, 2-bath (with a Jacuzzi!), & 2 car garage house b/c of the storm, & 2 hours before going to see it, the dude called me up & left me a voicemail not to bother b/c someone just signed a lease!

So, I figured that was acceptable Modus Operandi for landlordy-ppl.

He simply hems & haws some more, & eventually tells me that he never listed the place b/c he had set this up with this couple, & uh.... they're HOMELESS!!!!

uh..... WHAT!?!??!!??

"Yeah," he says, "I was talking to this couple & they were telling me that they were looking for a place, & I described the place that you have & that it was about to be available, & they said they DEFINITELY want it. They were just going to look at it first, but they said they definitely wanted to take it. They're even willing to pay more rent for it than you pay now."

Let me tell you, I just love that my landlord doesn't care about credit checks. He doesn't believe in them, he says, so he only does criminal history checks. Uh.... maybe that's why I'm the only tenant he has that pays rent on time.

So, hopefully, soon I find out if these ppl are definitely gonna take my place. Once they see it to confirm with him. I do have a friend I'm going to move in with if they take it. My friend's got like a 4-bedroom house, with 3 empty rooms (soon). So, I'll live there.

B/c it's just bad karma to hope that a homeless couple don't get your apt.

Isn't it?

Nw Yr's Resolution: the shiny edition!

I know what's been on all y'all's minds for the last month & a half.... WHAT is D's New Year's Resolution this year???!?!!!?!

Well, the reason I never posted it is b/c I actually never even made my resolution. I'm being more conscious to look better. Like doing my hair (instead of just pulling it back), and I bought a few new cute outfits. Since the break-up, it's really important for me to LIKE what I SEE in the mirror when I look at myself.

I bought a new mascara that I love, love, LOVE! My bff-Sparky recommended it to me, & now they started makin it in waterproof, so I'm all over it. But it's not all over me... hahaha... I know, corny, but I crack myself up so it's ok.

I know this has been the most fascinating post so far, huh?

Anyway, here's my New Year's Resolution this year (drum-roll~ da da da da da da daaaaa):
Yup, that's right. I'm gonna make it a point to sparkle more. Whenever I go out. Here's what I got so far towards my New Year's resolution (ring on the left).

It's a HUGE cocktail ring, Swarovski Crystal. Last summer, a gal I met had a set that looked similar to this (to the right), but it was all clear crystals. I couldn't validate spending more than $150 on a ring right now. But I have to have something bright & pretty & shiny & sparkly; esp now that I can't wear my sparkly diamond ring anymore.

So, I'm vowing to wear jewelry more now. I used to wear jewelry all the time in high school. I never left the house without a necklace & earrings on. But in college, I lost that, and now I rarely wear a necklace or earrings. But my resolution this year is to be more sparkly, so I plan to wear it often.

What better way to kick this off than to buy what my mom is referring to as a huge tacky/gaudy ring?

Next up? Well, Sparky emailed me a pic of a gorgeous ring she's been eyeing (ring on left). And I went to the site & found THIS (yllw earrings)! I know, puuurrrtty. (these last two pics I've hyperlinked to the site where you can find them, so you too can look at purty, shiny, sparkly stuff!)

I'm channeling cantaloupes

Hi everyone. Yes, I'm still here. Sorry I've been all absent & stuff. Just a lot going on. I always have 10 days off work from just before Christmas to January 2nd every year, but guess what? This year, I spent much of that time all sick. Yuk.

That's the worst; well, for me anyway. I've told y'all before how I'm super-busy at work from November to March. Like, so crazy busy I have NO time for anything. Well, I look forward all year to that lil break I get at the end of December so that I can have my normal life back, & of course this year, I was all sick for the entire period.

Also, major life-changing news in my life: Mr. T & I broke up. This really is life-changing. We weren't just bf/gf; we were s'posed to get all married & stuff (this upcoming October). We'd been together for about half-a-decade. That's a long time to be that close to a person. There really wasn't anything we didn't share with each other. So, it's kinda weird when something happens & the person you normally tell that thing to just isn't the person you can still tell it to.

Yes, I'm still ending sentences in prepositions. Oh, & talkin about 'tions, I still haven't made a New Year's resolution yet. Although in my defense, I've been sayin 'yo' more often than I've changed my underwear so far this year.

Yeah, I know... it's hot.

Ok, so what else....? OH- Guess what comes along with a huge break-up? More hot-stuff... zits! Yeah, I've gotten one zit after another. And so now, I've got myself a binary-zit. That's when 2 zits decide to orbit around each other. And lucky me, it's right on my cheek!

I know.... hot.

I put up a pic of a cantaloupe, b/c I know that the FCC would fine me if I put up a pic of my binary zit. It's about time for them to make an example of someone to keep us in line; & I just don't have an extra $300,000 lying around, ya know?

So, I was thinking of my whole one zit after another complex I'm going through right now, & I thought of something. You know how everyone likes melons? No, seriously, there's a melon out there for everyone. I myself LOVE all melon, but I think honeydews my fave. Santa Claus is cool too, but you have to be in the mood for it cause it's so sweet. But I do love all melon.

Well, I was thinking of pick-up lines from guys (b/c all guys have them, & most are NOT creative). And thinking of melon. And it hit me! Why can't a guy who loves melons (99.9% of guys) also love zits on chicks?

Like, why won't a guy come up to me & be all like:

Damn girl! That sexy thing on yo face reminds me of cantaloupe, & I've gots ta get me sum cantaloupe! I just wanna lick it!
But nooooo, I'm not hearing that. Weird, huh?

Oh, & this post is dedicated to Jen, who's been asking me for months to update. Holla!

couples' costumes: yay or nay?

I know, I know, y’all are in a state of confusion once again. There’s an election coming up, the US has pushed around our daylight savings time*, you’re worried about ppl poisoning the Halloween candy.

And there’s even more Halloween controversy. Couples costumes: in or blech?

I’m here to help out & say that I def think that if you’re part of a couple, you should wear couple’s costumes. I’ll go even further & say that if you’re just part of a group trolling around downtown or whatever, you should get a group ensemble together. Like the Scooby Doo gang or something like that. Have I just dated myself?

Maybe this stems from my neurotic need to have consistency, but whatevs. I still think it’s cute to have things that go together.

You know, like peanut butter & ladies.

boooooo....

I'd like to just post the pic below that I've painted on & be done w/ it. But of course, I can't. I have to say a lil sumptin-sumptin here. B/c I'm not one of those ppl who think that dude can't support whoever he wants. He can.

HOWEVER, he CANNOT be disrespectful to the town that pays him. He's OUR bitch, so to say. Cleveland welcomed him here from the 'Kron, & Cleveland all donned "Witness" shirts. Um, remember the humongo poster on Ontario? Dude, you had everyone calling you "King James".

Cleveland showed you some respect.

Lebron,
I couldn't care less who you like. I don't care what sports team, religion, or political party you support. We get it, we know you're a bandwagon junkie, w/ your Bulls & Cowboys & Yanks. I don't care about that.

I do care that you have everything to gain if any part of Cleveland does well. I was once a little surprised at what a good business-head you had on your shoulders. This is not a good business decision. You are a Cleveland icon; the Yankees cap is a huge logo, & we all know how much Clevelanders hate the Yankees.

You shouldn't have worn the cap, you should'ta held it over your head, & you shouldn'ta gone on national television supporting the Yankees. You shoulda just came to the game in whatever normal clothes you wanted to wear (no logos) & just cheered for the Yanks if you wanted. Although, there really wasn't much opportunity to do so last night, eh?

You were always a lil cocky, L. But I think you pushed it too far. You're testing your city. Bottom line is that this isn't a good business decision.

Here's what you gotta do: Meet Braylon Edwards. Bray-boy went to Michigan, everyone knows that. He plays for our Brownies. So, at a Browns game, when the crowd started up the Ohio State "O-H-I-O" chant, he put his hands up & did it too.

"I was definitely doing it. This is Ohio. This is my residence. This is where I play football. This is where I earn my paycheck. This is the city I've adopted and the one that has adopted me. I don't mind doing O-H-I-O. I don't believe it just pertains to Ohio State.
Cleveland ... is in Ohio."

the sunshine state?

More like the clouded-over state.

Don't mean to be a negative & stuff, but I've mentioned before how FL gets more days of thunderstorms every year than not.

And we know the ppl there aren't exactly the brightest in the country. They're the only state w/ that whole hanging chad problem. Plus, they decided as state that a guy called Jeb would be their best bet as Gov. Yes, folks, they elected this guy fair & square.

And y'all prob don't know too much about their education system, but lemme tell you, it SU-CKS. First, school starts the 1st week of August. This messes up everyone's vaca plans, b/c that's when most of the fam across the nation is able to get together.

Anyway, so this past Monday morn, I was getting ready for work in the morn, & I was thinking of what a pain this whole having FL around is. And I came up w/ the GREATEST IDEA EVER! Well, maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but it's def up there as one of my best ideas.

You know how ppl are always talking about how CA's gonna fall off into the Pacific? Well, ppl have mentioned it before.

So, I was thinking about how CA gets a bad rap sometimes b/c of the air-heads/ditzes in LA. But it's really not bad. I enjoy San Fran, the food, the shopping, the strolling, the weather, the food. And LA's fun too, you get to go there & act all pretentious & uppity. So FUN! And the Roosevelt Hotel's fun to stay at, & the the Getty museum's fun to visit. So, I was thinking how I like CA & about the San Andreas Fault & everything. And that's when I came up w/ the GREAT IDEA!

What if there was some way to get FL to fall off into the ocean instead?

No, wait... hear me out on this one.

FL sucks, remember? We just discussed a couple of the ways in which it sucks; & I didn't even mention jellyfish once. Oh, & the ppl there are old, so it's just a matter of time before they'll be gone anyway.

So, anyway, I've decided to come up w/ my own fake scientific proof on a major benefit to back my "let's saw off FL" cause. Here's a pic that NASA had put out during Hurricane Katrina (8/29/2005):NOW- by my own theories (w/ no scientific training whatsoever)*, I've come up w/ a modified version of this same pic:Do you see how w/out FL to contain the storm, it could very easily branch out into the Atlantic & dissipate? Ah HA! We wouldn't have had all the destruction, we would still be living w/ a false sense of security that FEMA had our backs, & we wouldn't have to live w/ the knowledge that "George Bush doesn't care about Black ppl".

The only possible dilemma I see, if we saw off FL, is the bug infestation. See, I've thought this out completely. Now, this is just a possibility, ppl. No need to get your panties in a bunch until we know for sure what'll happen w/ all the Floridian bugs. We all know that there's nothing but bugs, insects, locusts, blech all over FL. If we saw the state off, then there's a few possibilities:
- they may just go off into the ocean.
- they may relocate to Cuba. We're still at odds w/ the Castro regime, right?**
- OR- they may just die off since they used to live off of the FL environment, & it no longer exists.

*dude, I know what you're thinking... If I can come up w/ these great plans w/ no scientific knowledge/training whatsoever, imagine if I actually knew anything about science at all! I'd totally be more genius-er than I am now!!

**seriously, I'm going to do a post tomorrow (I think) going into this a little. Bush can just be so ridiculous sometimes.

heads of state

I'd written about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad before. He had said then that he wouldn't do Oli Stone's doc b/c he wants nothing to do w/ the US b/c anything to do w/ the US relates to "the Great Satan".

Sooooo.... um, isn't Columbia University in the US? So, why'd he do that? You know what I really wanna know that I can't seem find out? How much did they pay him to appear & speak?

You know what I mean? Seriously, even if you wanted Carrot Top to come to your school to speak, you'd have to pay him, & put him up in swanky digs & stuff. So, how much? And the students are ok w/ having contributed to his income?

Y'all remember the tasering that happened at John Kerry's todo at the University of Florida last week? I mean, they freakin tasered him! He just didn't agree w/ Kerry. I mean, his tuition & fees helped bring Kerry there, so he's got a right to say what he wants. I think The Idea of Progress did a great post on it. Yes, he got carried away, & shoulda been removed b/c he was getting in the way of the others who also contributed & actually did want to hear what the Ker-ster had to say. But to TASER him; that's just sickening. I've written about another tasering at a sunny school before too; & so y'all know I'm just pretty anti-tasering.

But the Columbia president paid Ahmadinejad to come to speak there, & then just bent him over & spanked him? If we're going to taser anyone who is adamantly against whoever we pay to come speak at the school, shouldn't that be consistent?

The kid paying tuition & fees gets tasered. The president who collects his income from the tuition & fees doesn't. I'm not saying he shoulda got tasered. I'm saying the kid shouldn't have.

I hate inconsistencies. Ahmadinejad saying he wants nothing to do w/ the US, then coming here to speak. Someone getting tasered for causing a scene at a lecture, & someone else being commended for it (even though he himself paid big money to the offender?). What's up w/ all dat yo?!?!

Oh, yeah, & then Evo Morales spoke at Cooper Union on Monday, & said that capitalism is "the worst enemy of humanity". He got thunderous applause from the 200 students that came to hear him speak. So, don't tell me it has anything to do w/ denouncing our way of life. Maybe it's just cause they're such a hippie school.

Sidenote: don't think I'm anti Evo, cause I'm not. I think it's cool that a poor farmer w/ no "formal education" can become president. I put "formal education" in quotes not b/c I love quotes so much, but b/c I don’t think a person’s intelligence or common sense comes is relative to the level of his degree. There are so many ppl among us who may not have formal training, but may be smarter or more qualified than those with a doctoral degree. But that’s a post for another day. Or not (you know how lazy I can be about posting).

playas gonna play, & haters gonna hate

That's just the way it is.

Here's what James Black of Yahoo! Sports wrote:

Ugly uni alert: Apparently, there will be a weekly mention in this space of attire. Here's hoping the references to hideous jerseys are kept to a minimum. A week after the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to take unis from three eras – bad, ugly and worse – and create a new look, their in-state rivals decided to upstage them. The Eagles rolled out a yellow and baby blue throwback ensemble so ugly that any further description won't do justice. See for yourself.
I don't know, I kinda like it. I mean, it's supposed to be a tribute to what they used to have. Styles change. That doesn't mean we can't appreciate what came before. The ppl who played for their team before they came around used to wear those colors, & they're just giving homage to that.

The only reason I even know about all this hating is b/c Mr. T is a huge Eagles fan. And I'm a big ole fashion fan. I also love wasting time online, & sooooo....

I've created this nifty slideshow using Flickr. And then I surfed the web until I found a way to embed it into my bl*g. Cause I'm cool like dat.

UPDATE: I thought the outfits were cute & colorful & happy-looking. Mr. T thought they were horrible.

do your pants hang low?

I'm sure all of you have heard about local governments across the nation banning the whole saggy pant trend that's going around. Now, I'm all for going up to a kid with his (sorry, but they all seem to be boys) pants hanging low, smacking him upside the head, & telling him to pull his pants up.

But I don't think any government should propose a law dictating what ppl can & can't wear.

What if they found glitter offensive? It's fine to not like a trend. I wasn't crazy about the backwards overalls (a la Criss Cross); I don't enjoy feathered teased hair. It doesn't matter if you don't like something, you can't just ban it like that. That's not the principle this nation is founded on.

See, if you could just go around fining & arresting ppl for whatever you don't like (or is really wrong, but not illegal yet); I'd get fines out the wa-zoo for always ending sentences in prepositions.

Now... if they were to propose a voluntary task force of
... big men ... who are dressed as women ... who are also packin ...
to go around & smack those boys w/ their pants hung low upside the head until they pull them up.

Well, I'd have no problem w/ that.

OH OH... WAIT... I just had a thought. What if maybe an evil genius scientist could also concoct a serum of some sort? So that when the big man in drag smacked the fashion-offending young lad, HE would then have something come over him. So that then, HE also felt compelled to dress as a woman (sans 'packin') & go around smacking others that were once like him upside the head TOO!

Or, is that going too far?
