23 positions in a one-night stand?

So you know how R. Kelly got off?

Yeah, that didn't link to what you thought it was gonna link to, eh? You sick, sick ppls! ;)

Anyway, I have a couple thoughts on that.

1- they say one of the main factors is that the girl in the video didn't testify. I'm wondering if anyone's checked for any weird (& extreme) activity in her bank account since this case has arisen. I'm just sayin.

and deux- I think anyone who has that video on their computer should face some sort of child porn charges. Yes, that prob means a few of the ppl who come to this post googling this whole situation.

No, I haven't seen the video. No, I have no plans to ever see the video. And yes, I did just write that in a huffy-pretentious voice.

UPDATE: Ok, I was gonna post a comment, but it turned really long, so I'm just adding it here as a radio edit.

It's absolutely crazy. Kids are having sex at the age of like 12 in suburbs & even younger in inner cities. I've heard this from kids! It's insane & outta control.

I'm so scared for our youth.

The other thing is, I think she was totally willing (as were other teenage girls). And they don't regret it when they're older. It's a "cool thing". And if they did regret it (doubtful), they would never testify against someone so famous that so many ppl love. Some crazy fans would try to stalk/hurt them if Kells ever went to jail.

I was listening to a radio show while in Chi-town one weekend, & there were a couple girls who called in bragging about having slept w/ him a decade ago when they were teens. Who knows if they were legit, or if they were making it up? But regardless, it was seen as a cool experience.

that's how you slap a racist diva

How comes we don't convict racists & bigots here in the US like they do in France?

They mean ill-will & harm to a particular group of ppl. How many ppl die here in the US b/c of their race, religion, gender (transgender), or sexual-orientation? How many are harmed or die, & it goes unreported? It's sickening.

story:
Brigitte Bardot wrote a letter to (then) Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. In the letter, she provoked discrimination and racial hatred; stating that Muslims are destroying France.

She wrote that France was "tired of being led by the nose by this population that is destroying us, destroying our country by imposing its acts."

Her statements were also published in her foundation's quarterly journal.

France has anti-racism laws that "prevent inciting hatred and discrimination on racial or religious or racial grounds". Bardot has already been convicted four times for this in the past.

heehee.... he said huckleberry

Now for another installment of conversations in real-life:

My dad talkin to my sister on speaker-phone w/ my mom & me. He's trying to describe an actress to her.

pappa: She looks like that woman... you know... from the James Bond movie...... Huckleberry.

my sis: huh? Huckleberry?

mom: HALLE BERRY!!!

hee hee. Yeah, not much, but it kinda cracked me up. Cause we all know my history w/ Halle Berry.

me & my cultured self

Ah, yes…. What have I been up to? Well, being the east-sider that I am now, last week I went to an orchestra concert AND the opera.

Yeah, ya heard me.

The orch concert was amazing; there's nothing quite like hearing a full orchestra live in a great hall. That was Wed night. Then, Sat night, I went to see La Bohème at Playhouse Square downtown. Just us gals went; there were supposed to be 6 ladies, but 2 had to back out.

By the time the lights went up for the 2nd intermission, I was just bawling. We had to go out to get tissues b/c 2 of us were just in tears. Thank goodness for waterproof mascara, no?

Tomorrow night, one of my fabulous friends arranged for all of us to go see John Caparulo at Playhouse Square. My friends are really the best! We are going to be in the 2nd row for a show that's being taped to dvd for Comedy Central?!?!!? Are you kiddin me? I just love my friends.

Not for that, per se, but b/c they really are great. I've been a Ms. Cranky-Pissy-pants lately, & they've dealt with me accordingly.

I'm also excited that we're going to Bricco before the show. They just opened it up here, across the street from Playhouse Square, & I was there just last Sat after the girls & I left the opera. It's totally fab, so I can't wait!

the peg-leg wants to be a priest.

Hello, can you say “Delusions of Grandeur”? This is insane!

Did you guys see that Sir Paul’s lawyer left court with her head all wet b/c Heather Mills dumped a glass of water on her?!?! She told reporters that she was "baptized in court". Uh...
♬♪♫ crazy ♬♪♫

Anyway, I think we all know from my previous post that I was no fan of hers from the onslaught. But it does irritate me how some women* marry a rich man for a few years, & then feel entitled to a ton of money. [ * I ain't sayin she's a gold-digga, but she ain't messin w/ no broke.... ]

Now, I can understand if they were married for a long time (10-30 yrs). In many cases, they struggled to make it happen before one of them got their break. But they BOTH went through that, & relied on each other to get to that point.

But c'mon now peggy, you can't be serious. I'm sick of ppl saying that they've "acclimated" to a lifestyle. Please! It was 4 years! If you lived your whole life with 2 legs & then one is taken away from you, you simply adapt, & learn to deal with having a peg-leg attached to you. You ADAPT.

Peggy's getting paid. And their child gets $70,000 a year, plus Sir Paul pays her school & nanny fees. And seriously, she said it was a "paltry amount" & "She's obviously meant to travel B class while her father travels A class". Yeah, peggy, obviously.

We all know how much Sir Paul cares about his kids, & I highly doubt he would trivialize anything for any of them. This whole thing is so ridiculous.

Why is it annoying me SO incredibly much, you ask? It's because when they 1st met & got married, he thought she was it. But it turned out she wasn't. I'm having issues with that. How does anyone know when someone is it? Esp when you find out they're not? You try to keep faith & believe, but I don't think Sir Paul's gonna open his heart again to another woman ever.

And the thought of any person doing that makes me sad.

boooooo....

I'd like to just post the pic below that I've painted on & be done w/ it. But of course, I can't. I have to say a lil sumptin-sumptin here. B/c I'm not one of those ppl who think that dude can't support whoever he wants. He can.

HOWEVER, he CANNOT be disrespectful to the town that pays him. He's OUR bitch, so to say. Cleveland welcomed him here from the 'Kron, & Cleveland all donned "Witness" shirts. Um, remember the humongo poster on Ontario? Dude, you had everyone calling you "King James".

Cleveland showed you some respect.

Lebron,
I couldn't care less who you like. I don't care what sports team, religion, or political party you support. We get it, we know you're a bandwagon junkie, w/ your Bulls & Cowboys & Yanks. I don't care about that.

I do care that you have everything to gain if any part of Cleveland does well. I was once a little surprised at what a good business-head you had on your shoulders. This is not a good business decision. You are a Cleveland icon; the Yankees cap is a huge logo, & we all know how much Clevelanders hate the Yankees.

You shouldn't have worn the cap, you should'ta held it over your head, & you shouldn'ta gone on national television supporting the Yankees. You shoulda just came to the game in whatever normal clothes you wanted to wear (no logos) & just cheered for the Yanks if you wanted. Although, there really wasn't much opportunity to do so last night, eh?

You were always a lil cocky, L. But I think you pushed it too far. You're testing your city. Bottom line is that this isn't a good business decision.

Here's what you gotta do: Meet Braylon Edwards. Bray-boy went to Michigan, everyone knows that. He plays for our Brownies. So, at a Browns game, when the crowd started up the Ohio State "O-H-I-O" chant, he put his hands up & did it too.

"I was definitely doing it. This is Ohio. This is my residence. This is where I play football. This is where I earn my paycheck. This is the city I've adopted and the one that has adopted me. I don't mind doing O-H-I-O. I don't believe it just pertains to Ohio State.
Cleveland ... is in Ohio."

heads of state

I'd written about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad before. He had said then that he wouldn't do Oli Stone's doc b/c he wants nothing to do w/ the US b/c anything to do w/ the US relates to "the Great Satan".

Sooooo.... um, isn't Columbia University in the US? So, why'd he do that? You know what I really wanna know that I can't seem find out? How much did they pay him to appear & speak?

You know what I mean? Seriously, even if you wanted Carrot Top to come to your school to speak, you'd have to pay him, & put him up in swanky digs & stuff. So, how much? And the students are ok w/ having contributed to his income?

Y'all remember the tasering that happened at John Kerry's todo at the University of Florida last week? I mean, they freakin tasered him! He just didn't agree w/ Kerry. I mean, his tuition & fees helped bring Kerry there, so he's got a right to say what he wants. I think The Idea of Progress did a great post on it. Yes, he got carried away, & shoulda been removed b/c he was getting in the way of the others who also contributed & actually did want to hear what the Ker-ster had to say. But to TASER him; that's just sickening. I've written about another tasering at a sunny school before too; & so y'all know I'm just pretty anti-tasering.

But the Columbia president paid Ahmadinejad to come to speak there, & then just bent him over & spanked him? If we're going to taser anyone who is adamantly against whoever we pay to come speak at the school, shouldn't that be consistent?

The kid paying tuition & fees gets tasered. The president who collects his income from the tuition & fees doesn't. I'm not saying he shoulda got tasered. I'm saying the kid shouldn't have.

I hate inconsistencies. Ahmadinejad saying he wants nothing to do w/ the US, then coming here to speak. Someone getting tasered for causing a scene at a lecture, & someone else being commended for it (even though he himself paid big money to the offender?). What's up w/ all dat yo?!?!

Oh, yeah, & then Evo Morales spoke at Cooper Union on Monday, & said that capitalism is "the worst enemy of humanity". He got thunderous applause from the 200 students that came to hear him speak. So, don't tell me it has anything to do w/ denouncing our way of life. Maybe it's just cause they're such a hippie school.

Sidenote: don't think I'm anti Evo, cause I'm not. I think it's cool that a poor farmer w/ no "formal education" can become president. I put "formal education" in quotes not b/c I love quotes so much, but b/c I don’t think a person’s intelligence or common sense comes is relative to the level of his degree. There are so many ppl among us who may not have formal training, but may be smarter or more qualified than those with a doctoral degree. But that’s a post for another day. Or not (you know how lazy I can be about posting).

jena conviction overturned

I know you guys all have the Jena situation alive in your heads. I'm sure you all were as pleased as I when we heard that the state appeals court overturned the felony conviction for Mychal Bell.

He was tried as an adult originally even though he was just 16 when the assault happened. I'm not sure what will happen next; that'll be determined this week. Likely, he'll be re-tried as a juvenile (which is what shoula happened in the 1st place). It's not like re-trying him will cost more money in court/legal fees. Oh wait, yes it will.

It sucks that all this happened; & that it took so long for anything to happen. I think everyone who's signed the petition (see previous post), & all the ppl who've traveled down there, or blogged about it, or even just brought it up & talked about it have helped bring about some change. It makes me re-affirm my faith in our ppl.

Here's something I'm not too sure about... Maybe you've all heard that there's going to be a rally in Jena, LA this coming Thursday. Expected numbers are anywhere from 5,000 to 35,000 ppl to attend.

One of those ppl is Al Sharpton. Y'all know Rev. Al, right? Here's the thing, all the ppl on the side of the Jena 6 believe that Al's coming to help them. But I believe that Al only does things that help HIMSELF. I don't think he's doing this (or has done anything else) out of the goodness of his own heart. I think he's his own publicity machine. I think he only cares about what this situation can do for him.

There are thousands of others that are leaving their work behind & paying their own way to go to Jena. Rev. Al's doing it as part of his work, & will def collect from it.

I guess it's all whatever though. I mean, he will bring publicity to it all; he won't be ignored, that's for sure. So, I guess this situation can use all the ppl (self-serving or not) it can get.

I'm bloody finicky

You guys don't know this about me, but I'm pretty picky. I like to call it "particular". But basically, it can be seen as high-maintenance to some. But I'm even high-maintenance for myself. But I'll do the extra work for myself to make things the way I like it, b/c I'll enjoy it more that way.

Quick example? I like my Bloody Mary's made from scratch. Yes, it means mixing up like 7 different ingredients, but it's way better than any "mix".

I've also had a rough last 2 days. Well, last 5 days really. But b/t yesterday & today at work, I seriously thought it had to be Thurs already, b/c I've already done so much.

And I emailed w/ my girls today, like I occasionally do. Whatever, don't judge me, y'all email your friends while working too. And besides, it keeps me saner than otherwise. So, anyway, after my long, stressful day, I noticed that my bff had left a million comments on some pics I had online, & I emailed her to see if she'd done any work today at all. This is why I love my girl. Her response made me chuckle.I would also post some of the other emails that led up to this, b/c we've been emailing all day about absolutely nothing. I don't think I'd ever post that stuff b/c it's not really appropriate material for this blog. But I can tell you it involves TMZ, Channing Tatum, & Cristiano Ronaldo. Yeah. Oh, & telemundo.

But the point is that she's right; it does ask if you're all fussy & stuff at the bottom. And I have filled out tons of Yahoo surveys b/c I am fussy about all that stuff. And I'm a Yahoo-enthusiast & want to make sure they do things the way I like it.

Yeah, so I didn't have a real post today (um, remember at the beginning when I told you how crazy busy I was?). But I did think it was funny that Yahoo decided to put that add at the bottom of my email to her.

at a loss

You know how there are some ppl in this world that have a talent so profound, it just stops you? Like, you hear Pavarotti start singing, you can feel yourself gasp?

It's been a year & 2 months since I posted about his pancreatic cancer. You can read all the posts I've written about him all together by clicking here. You don't have to click to read the posts, but I am very fond of the pics I put up to accompany the posts. I picked out older photos of him that I thought showed a lot of who he was beyond a maestro.

So, there's not much to say; I'm sure you all have heard by now that he's passed on. Instead, I'm going to post a bunch of things he's said over his 71 years.

  • Above all, I am an opera singer. This is how people will remember me.

  • Am I afraid of high notes? Of course I am afraid. What sane man is not?

  • At the age of 4. I jump on the table. I am a little tenor. And I begin to sing, La Donna e Mobile.

  • Children should be given the chance to play instruments, to sing.

  • Every Italian play football. The first gift they give you when you are 3 is a ball.

  • For me, music making is the most joyful activity possible, the most perfect expression of any emotion.

  • For an Italian, being honored in America was a big privilege.

  • I am open to everything.

  • I am proud to be a messenger of peace for the United Nations.

  • I haven't seen the Elton John, but I have seen Rent on many occasions.

  • I made 12 duets. It was such a pleasure to know these people from the inside, not from the cover of an album.

  • I smoke cigar in the summertime. Probably in three months, 10 cigar.

  • I want to reach as many people as possible with the message of music, of wonderful opera.

  • I would like to raise money for the kids from the world. To do that, the only way, it was to call pop singer. If you call pop singer, you can sell the ticket.

  • If children are not introduced to music at an early age, I believe something fundamental is actually being taken from them.

  • If you see me once, you cannot confuse me with another.

  • If you want to do something really bad to me, you invite at your home, and put one record of mine. And my digestion will be finished before begin.

  • In opera, as with any performing art, to be in great demand and to command high fees you must be good of course, but you must also be famous. The two are different things.

  • Learning music by reading about it is like making love by mail.

  • People have a right to criticize.

  • Sometime to be called Pavarotti is not always an advantage.

  • Why should be elite, music? Excuse me. Music must be for everybody.

  • We just baptized my daughter, and we have 300 people in the church. When we are going to be married, we will be alone.

  • With the piano, at the age of 18, I was already singing for $1, $2 a performance.

  • You don't need any brains to listen to music.

  • No regrets, no regrets.

  • If music is central to a person's life, it can be something very special and life-affirming.

  • I am a very superstitious person.[When he performs, Pavarotti wants nails strewn all over the stage, and won't tolerate the color purple. In former times, priests wore purple, and artists couldn't perform during the season of Lent. So, purple, to an Italian, to an artist, means no eating, no money, no work, no women.]

  • Olive oil is so incredibly healthy -- as a digestive. I love it and I use it despite the fact that it's the most caloric thing in the world.

  • I am not a boiled potato -- I am a fried potato.

  • I have lost twice 85 pounds. Can you imagine? Twice.

  • Despite the fact that I was born under the sign of Libra [balance], I am a person who calculates little and dreams a lot. With the grandissimi advantages and the grandissimi disadvantages. But, the advantages are 90% and the disadvantages, 10%. So it's worth living as a dreamer.

  • I love Ballo [Un Ballo in Maschera -- The Masked Ball, a Verdi opera] for many reasons .... The tenor character Riccaredo is a good man who is deeply in love with his friend's wife. I sympathize with him, not because I have ever been in love with a friend's wife, thank God, but because I know how pwerful love can be and how it can make a man do things that he knows are wrong.

  • I know one second before if is not going well. Absolutely. I feel it.

  • Teaching I think is the most difficult thing. Teaching is more difficult than singing. ..... Why? Because you have to transfer a thought from your brain to the brain of the other person and the throat of the other person. [2005 - This was when Pavarotti announced that he was retiring from performing, & was now going to teach for free.] I'm going to teach for free. I don't want to teach people just because they pay me. I want to teach people who really are good. I received a beautiful welcome to the world of music. I want to give something back to the younger generation."

    Mandy's umbrella

I like Mandy Moore. I don’t have a girl crush on her like I do on Salma Hayek. But I like her; I think she’s adorable. I don’t really listen to her music; just b/c I’ve never really heard her cds or anything. But isn’t she just the cutest thing? I do like the movies she’s done. She did crack me up in that American Dreamz; & made me cry in A Walk to Remember. I guess others thought it was a corny movie, but I liked it a lot. It struck me. I saw Because I Said So too; but I really like Diane Keaton too. And I can't wait to see License to Wed.

Anyway, I heard she’s re-doing that “umbrella” song* by Rhianna. Uuggh. I can’t stand Rhianna. I just don’t like her; something about her. I don’t like any of her songs either. I’m always asking y’all to sign petitions & if there was a petition to get this Rhianna-chick to stop making albums, please send me the link to it. Thanks.

Yes, this was a no-point post; & I prob wasted your time. But that’s all I’ve got to say right now.

*Ok, so I don't like any of Rhianna's songs, but I do kinda like Mandy Moore's version of it. Maybe it's just my bias b/c I like her, & can't stand Rhianna. Rhianna. Uuggh. Yek.

    disclosure issues

So, Mr. T & I are going to (eventually) have a child. I emphasize the 'eventually' b/c I don't want anyone getting any ideas; it's prob not going to be for another 4-5 years. But the day will come.

Here's the thing, we've had the baby names talk, & picked out 2 really chill names (1 boy name, 1 girl name). And no, I can't tell you what they are.

We've had the talk about when to tell ppl. I mentioned to him once that I'd read online that day that you're not supposed to disclose that your all knocked-up until after your 1st trimester. I think it comes from the olden days when women were more likely to have a problem & possibly miscarry. If no one knows, then no one will be able to put hexes on your unborn child... or something like that.

He said that he wouldn't be able to hold it in, & that we'd def have to tell some close fam. I think I'm ok w/ telling the parents, but swearing them to secrecy until we make the actual announcement.

Now, the reason I bring up all this is b/c we had another conversation about this topic last weekend. I think it was last Sat night. We're usually out until late on Sat nights, we get home around 5:30 am (yes, that's very typical for us)*, & then stay up until around 8 am talking & watching the sun come up. We live across the street from a beach (it's a 3 min walk); & we sit out on the balcony talking about all sorts of stuff.

Anyway, the topic of pics came up. He wants us to send out those "1st pics". You know, the kind they take at a hospital. I've never been a big fan of the "super-newborn" picture. I just don't know; it just doesn't seem right to me. I can't explain it. Well, ok I can. But I will seriously come off like an insensitive bee-otch if I do. I could spin it around, & be all like, oh the baby just went through the trauma of birth, we should leave it alone, & not stick a cam in it's face. But we all know that's not really why.

Now, I'm going to totally contradict myself here, & say that I do like getting those "birth announcements" in the mail. But that's mainly so that I can get the stats on the kid; you know, like on a baseball card. I'd be totally fine w/ a birth announcement that didn't have a pic of the newborn on it. But I am ok w/ the kind w/ the pic of the newborn. But that's only one pic. I don't want to see a whole photo album of just borney-ness. Does that make sense? No? Well, let me take this moment to remind you all that I am often not very rational.

So, the thing is, I never planned on sending out pics of my newborn (again, ppl, when it happens, years from now). I saw what CrazyCruise & KatieCruise did last year w/ that pretty lil Suri. That was marketing GENIUS! Now, I'm not trying to market my baby. But let's face it, babies look WAAAAY cuter at 6 months than they do as newborns.

So, my plan was to not disclose any pics of my baby until she (or he) was about 6 months. I think I'm fighting an uphill battle. This aforementioned "logic" cannot be explained to Mr. T.

*in fact, we got home last night at 4:30 am, & it was a Thursday night; & I'm at work today.

    Bob Dylan - Hurricane

Pistols shots ring out in the barroom night
Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall
She sees the bartender in a pool of blood
Cries out "My God they killed them all"
Here comes the story of the Hurricane
The man the authorities came to blame
For something that he never done
Put him in a prison cell but one time he could-a been
    The champion of the world.

Three bodies lying there does Patty see
And another man named Bello moving around mysteriously
"I didn't do it" he says and he throws up his hands
"I was only robbing the register I hope you understand
I saw them leaving" he says and he stops
"One of us had better call up the cops"
And so Patty calls the cops
And they arrive on the scene with their red lights flashing
In the hot New Jersey night.

Meanwhile far away in another part of town
Rubin Carter and a couple of friends are driving around
Number one contender for the middleweight crown
Had no idea what kinda shit was about to go down
When a cop pulled him over to the side of the road
Just like the time before and the time before that
In Patterson that's just the way things go
If you're black you might as well not shown up on the street
'Less you wanna draw the heat.

Alfred Bello had a partner and he had a rap for the corps
Him and Arthur Dexter Bradley were just out prowling around
He said "I saw two men running out they looked like middleweights
They jumped into a white car with out-of-state plates"
And Miss Patty Valentine just nodded her head
Cop said "Wait a minute boys this one's not dead"
So they took him to the infirmary
And though this man could hardly see
They told him that he could identify the guilty men.

Four in the morning and they haul Rubin in
Take him to the hospital and they bring him upstairs
The wounded man looks up through his one dying eye
Says "Wha'd you bring him in here for ? He ain't the guy !"
Yes here comes the story of the Hurricane
The man the authorities came to blame
For something that he never done
Put in a prison cell but one time he could-a been
    The champion of the world.

Four months later the ghettos are in flame
Rubin's in South America fighting for his name
While Arthur Dexter Bradley's still in the robbery game
And the cops are putting the screws to him looking for somebody to blame
"Remember that murder that happened in a bar ?"
"Remember you said you saw the getaway car?"
"You think you'd like to play ball with the law ?"
"Think it might-a been that fighter you saw running that night ?"
"Don't forget that you are white".

Arthur Dexter Bradley said "I'm really not sure"
Cops said "A boy like you could use a break
We got you for the motel job and we're talking to your friend Bello
Now you don't wanta have to go back to jail be a nice fellow
You'll be doing society a favor
That sonofabitch is brave and getting braver
We want to put his ass in stir
We want to pin this triple murder on him
    He ain't no Gentleman Jim".

Rubin could take a man out with just one punch
But he never did like to talk about it all that much
It's my work he'd say and I do it for pay
And when it's over I'd just as soon go on my way
    Up to some paradise
Where the trout streams flow and the air is nice
And ride a horse along a trail
But then they took him to the jailhouse
Where they try to turn a man into a mouse.

All of Rubin's cards were marked in advance
The trial was a pig-circus he never had a chance
The judge made Rubin's witnesses drunkards from the slums
To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum
And to the black folks he was just a crazy nigger
No one doubted that he pulled the trigger
And though they could not produce the gun
The DA said he was the one who did the deed
    And the all-white jury agreed.

    Rubin Carter was falsely tried
The crime was murder 'one' guess who testified
Bello and Bradley and they both baldly lied
And the newspapers they all went along for the ride
How can the life of such a man
Be in the palm of some fool's hand ?
    To see him obviously framed
Couldn't help but make me feel ashamed to live in a land
    Where justice is a game.

Now all the criminals in their coats and their ties
Are free to drink martinis and watch the sun rise
While Rubin sits like Buddha in a ten-foot cell
An innocent man in a living hell
That's the story of the Hurricane
But it won't be over till they clear his name
And give him back the time he's done
Put him in a prison cell but one time he could-a been
    The champion of the world.

    resenting authorities everywhere

I know I'm not being a posting machine; it's only cause I have a lot of stuff going on, & have no time. I get up early in the morn for work, don't really return home until 10 pm (or later, or the next day sometimes), & have barely anytime to do anything. I'm thankful for the day off work tomorrow b/c it means I can do laundry & have some clean clothes again. I'm also thankful for Mr. T, cause he did all my dirty, dirty dishes. And there were quite a few.

Even though I'm not posting, I'm still reading y'all's blogs & the news. So, I saw an article about Oliver Stone requesting to make a documentary about Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Well, the Iranian prez rejected the offer b/c Stone is part of "Great Satan" cultural establishment.

The media advisor to the Prez said, "I sent a negative answer by Ahmadinejad to Oliver Stone.... It is right that this person is considered part of the opposition in the U.S., but opposition in the U.S. is a part of the Great Satan."

This is all fine & good. If someone thinks someone else is a Great Satan, then of course they would want nothing to do w/ that person.

*total sidenote: I think I'm really digging that term "Great Satan"... there's this whore that I completely hate (like really hate as a human being, seriously). And, I have a name I call her, but it's way worse than whore (whore being the more publishable word; & no, it doesn't involve the 'f' word, it's waaaay worse). But I think I will also start to refer to her as a "Great Satan".

Anyway, the whole point of this post is what Oliver Stone said in response. I found it quite funny.

"I have been called a lot of things, but never a great satan. I wish the Iranian people well, and only hope their experience with an inept, rigid ideologue president goes better than ours."
The pic to the left is of from Feb 2002 when Stone spent 3 days w/ Fidel Castro for his documentary of him, Comandante. I think it's a cool looking picture. And the pic above is my montage of finger pointing that cracks me up. It's really only there for me, b/c I'm sure no one else will find it as funny as I do.

    i belong here

    Hey,
Have any of you read this book by Miranda July yet? Or, any other book by her? Or heard any of her audio tapes? I just ordered it; I don't know if I'm getting the pink one or the yllw one. Apparently, it comes in two colors:

Those are screen shots from the website for the book, which is a TRIP, & you have to go visit. It's not one of those sites that just go on forever; it'll take less than 10 mins to go through it all, so you should. It's cute too.

So, go; & then come back..... I'll wait.

    ~tapping toe patiently~

SEE! I told you it was cute. [sidenote: um, you do remember how corny I am, right?]

Anyway, I'd like any opinions or recommendations. Thanks.

    I'm gonna meet Bubba

Ok, so the last post I did wasn't supposed to be about Bill Clinton. I think sub-consciously it all came out b/c he's been on my mind. Why, you ask?

    B/c I'm gonna MEET HIM!!!

Yes, you read right. Well, kinda. Ok, so not so much "meet him". Let's not argue about the semantics. I'm gonna be in the same place as him. [said silently: Most likely hundreds of feet away]

My sister's graduating & is about to take this world by the throat & shake it around a little. Is that violent? B/c she's not that violent; she's got an attitude (she gets it from my mom, just like me & my other sister do). But she's not violent. Anyway, she's super smart, & we love her, & are so proud of her. So, we were all stoked to see her gradumatate.

But now, we find out that Bill Clinton's speaking at her commencement ceremony, so we're even more excited now.

What? You say you wish you were there? Well, they're having a live videostream, so there's always that. And you can pretty much count on me posting about it w/ pics.

Now, before I leave you, be honest w/ me... Do you think it'd be a little much if I wore the shirt pictured to the left?

    actors & hookers

You know what I was thinking about last night? I was thinking about how actors & prostitutes are pretty much the same.

I mean, they both do & say as they are told. There is someone there to "direct" their actions. The prettier ones make a lil more moolah. They both get paid just for showing up & doing/saying what they're told.

Then I started thinking about Will Smith. I think I was thinking about all this b/c I saw some commercial for that new movie of his before I went to bed. I wasn't watching tv, but you know how if the tv's on, it's in the corner of your eye?

So, then I was thinking how Big Willie started out mostly in music, & is now mainly acting. And his wife was mostly acting before, & now she's mainly singing (she's always on tour w/ her band whenever I hear about her). Funny, huh? (ironic-funny, not haha-funny).

UPDATE: After I wrote this, I remembered when I was in school. I went into my undergrad to study architecture & sociology. I recalled that in my 2nd year of studio, we were told that architects are like whores, b/c you have to 'put out' whatever the client wants. Only a very select few will ever get to design what they truly want. I eventually switched outta arch, & just finished w/ a major in Sociology, which I love.
